What are the browser requirements for Interaction Community System?
Interaction
Community System has been Beta tested with Microsoft Internet Explorer
7, Mozilla Firefox 2, and Apple Safari 3.1.2.
How do I upload documents and files to Interaction Community System?
With Interaction™ Community System, users no longer have to use the cumbersome
upload controls currently in use on most online applications. This upload control
allows users to upload multiple files and entire directories in seconds from either
the web-based Ascend™ interface or directly from Microsoft® Office® products using
the Interaction™ toolbar add-in. Upon upload, an email will be sent to every user
with permissions to the folder in which the file is being uploaded to along with
a link to that file. This feature can also be turned off by the folder owner as
well.
Can users collaborate on documents using Interaction Community System?
Interaction™ offers a collaboration toolbar that integrates with the Microsoft
Office® productivity suite. Using this toolbar, users are able to "check out" files
and documents, make updates, and then save changes back to Interaction™, without
ever leaving the Microsoft® product. This unique feature enables users to collaborate
seamlessly across the Internet eliminating the need to spend thousands of dollars
on a VPN solution.
Does Interaction Community System support permissions?
With Interaction™ Community System, customers’ information is never compromised
in anyway. To accomplish this, Interaction™ provides a permissions scheme that promotes
the utmost security while still maintaining flexibility for the company’s growth.
When creating new directories, Interaction™ Administrators are able to create permissions
on multiple levels. Not only can they select what users have access to directories,
but they can also choose what actions each user/group is allowed to perform. Whether
it’s granting read, write, delete, copy or move permissions, the highest level of
data integrity is ensured.
Can Interaction Community System help me conserve space on my company's email
and file servers?
Typically, users within an organization use the company email system to
share and comment on documents, which can use large amounts of bandwidth and storage.
In addition, most email systems restrict the size of the document being attached
to the email. With Interaction™, users simply upload the document to the appropriate
folder, and the system automatically emails an alert to all users with permissions
to that directory. This process conserves both bandwidth and storage on company
email servers.
